While I was working normal hours while down at the cottage, we did manage to sneak in some fun in the evenings and at lunch.
Totle came too, and was perfectly behaved on both flights. He LOVED the cottage, it’s small footprint made it much easier for him to keep an eye on us and all of the restaurants we went to had dog-friendly outdoor patios so he tagged along and enjoyed living the high life.
Most of my lunch hours were spent lounging on the beach with my sister. We didn’t get that much sun between umbrellas, SPF 50 and limited exposures, but the bits we did get felt like heaven.
One evening we venture down the road to Boca Grande to check out the darling little village. The Gasparilla Inn & Golf Club was breathtaking and the whole place felt like it was out of a picture book! I can’t wait to get my husband down there for a romantic getaway.
Our last night in Florida we went out for a sunset nature cruise around Lemon Bay. It was amazing! We saw no fewer than 15 dolphins, a manatee, and even nesting bald eagles.
